The mental part of it is easy for me. I'm too thick headed to ever consider quitting I guess. (Maybe that's why I had to spend the night in the medical tent after my Ironman!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09284927945426592305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5680648083095436862.post-52862329240869761652011-08-14T13:52:28.454-07:002011-08-14T13:52:28.454-07:00I agree with Gords. The fact is you finished a 10 mile open water swim which, as you said, was you longest continuous swim to date! That is something to be proud of! They say 80% of marathon swimming is mental and only 20% is physical and I think you proved that to be true by pushing through all the challenges and FINISHING! Nice job!Joshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16931313612724179052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5680648083095436862.post-68166909169030646562011-08-14T12:01:46.804-07:002011-08-14T12:01:46.804-07:00Carved=carbed up. Also you didn't mention if you carved or not in the days leading up to the event. How was your energy level? If it was lacking maybe evaluating your diet and carb loading practices. But a finish is a finish and you earned every yard just as much as the fastest dude in the pack. You're still a stud and don't you forget it!Gordshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04541143607121401766noreply@blogger.com
